Awesome Tricks For Coding A Blogger Template

Introduction

Are you a blogger who codes their own templates? If so, you’re going to love these tricks!

If you’re not a coder, but you’d like to learn, these tricks will get you started.

In this post, we’ll show you how to use HTML and CSS to create a blogger template that’s both stylish and responsive.

Start With a Basic Template

The first step in coding your own Blogger template is to start with a basic template. This will give you a foundation to work from and help you understand how the code works.

There are a number of free templates available online, or you can use one of your own design.

Once you've chosen a template, open it in a text editor (like Notepad++) and take a look at the code.

Use HTML and CSS to Customise Your Template

If you're feeling adventurous, you can delve into the code of your Blogger template and customise it to your heart's content.

HTML and CSS are the two languages you'll need to know in order to do this.

HTML is used to structure the content of your page, while CSS is used to style it.

There are many online resources that can teach you how to code, or you can find a tutorial specific to Blogger.

Once you've learned the basics, the sky's the limit! ,  You can change font types, colours, sizes, and pretty much anything else you can think of.

You can also create responsive templates that look great on any device.

Use External Resources to Help With Coding

Not confident in your coding abilities? No problem! , There are plenty of external resources that can help you out.

One great way to get started is by using a template builder.

These tools allow you to create a custom template without having to write any code yourself.

All you need to do is input your desired design and the tool will take care of the coding for you.

If you're looking for more control over your template, consider using a code editor.

These tools allow you to write and edit your own code, giving you more flexibility and power over your template.

Whichever route you choose, don't be afraid to ask for help.

There are plenty of people out there who are happy to offer guidance and support.

Use a Code Editor to Make Changes

A code editor will allow you to view and change the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files that make up your template.

This is a great way to customise your template without having to touch the code itself.

There are a number of great code editors out there, but our personal favourite is Sublime Text.

It's easy to use, has a tonne of features, and is available for both Mac and PC.

Once you have Sublime Text installed, open it up and you'll see a blank document.

This is where you'll be coding your template.

Understand How to Use Blogger Tags

In order to take full advantage of the power of Blogger tags, you first need to understand how they work.

Tags are a way of categorising your posts, and they can be used to target specific content to readers.

You can add tags when you're writing a post, and you can also create custom blog tags that are specific to your blog.

In order for your readers to find your content, it's important to use the right tags in your posts.

You can find pre-made blog tags in the Blogger template or create your own.

When creating your own, make sure they're specific to your blog and that you use them consistently.

Have an Understanding of the Blogger Platform

Before you start coding your template, it's important to have a basic understanding of how the Blogger platform works.

This will help you avoid any potential problems and make the process a lot smoother.

The best way to learn about how Blogger works is to play around with it.

Experiment with the different settings and see what happens when you change different variables.

This will help you get a better idea of how everything works and how you can use that knowledge to create your perfect template.

Utilise Blogger Widgets

Widgets are a great way to add features and functionality to your blog without having to know any coding.

There are a tonne of different widgets to choose from, and most of them are free.

Some of our favourites include the Recent Posts widget, which lets your readers quickly see what you've been blogging about, and the Comments widget, which allows your readers to easily leave comments on your posts.

The Search bar widget is also a must-have for any blog, as it makes it easy for your readers to find what they're looking for.

And lastly, the Social Media Followers widget is perfect for growing your social media following.

Apply Changes to Your Template

Once you've finished coding your template, it's time to apply the changes to your blog.

First, head to your Blogger Dashboard and select "Template." , Once you're in the Template Editor, you'll see a preview of your current template on the right-hand side.

In the "Activate" column on the left, you'll see a list of all the templates you've created.

To apply a new template, hover over it and click "Activate." Your blog will then switch to the new template.

If you want to go back to your original template, hover over it and click "Deactivate." , This will return your blog to its original state.

Preview Your Changes

One of the great things about coding your own template is that you can preview your changes in real time.

This is especially helpful when you're making minor tweaks, as you can easily see how they look without having to save and reload the page.

To preview your changes, simply click the "Preview" button at the top of the code editor.

This will open a new window where you can see how your changes will look on a live blog.
